Timeline analysis 1

When watching and analysing The Greatest by Sia music video I found that the video was made up of long shots which involved the camera following the main girl who features in the majority of Sia music video. By having someone who appears in all of her videos allows the audience to associate the girl with Sia and therefore almost creates a image for Sia and something that the target audience can look out for. The reason why long camera shots were used was to make the video flow and makes it look effective. When I was researching the idea behind the music video I found that it was based around the shooting in America which resulted in many people dying, this therefore relates to the drama element that I am researching. When researching the stereotypical conventions of drama I found that a lot of drama films are based on true stories or in this case a music video, for example Titanic. The clothing that can be seen in the music video are very dull which contrasts the rainbows which are seen I the beginning and at the end. The rainbows link to the fact that the shooting to place at a gay club. The clothes also reminded me of prison clothes because they were a grey colour and the fact that there were parts of the setting that included jail bar gates and doors which could highlight the idea of them being trapped. The sound that is found within this music video is the lyrics and the music to the sound which is played over the top of the footage.
