After amending my film poster according to the audience feedback I was given this was my final outcome. I think it works really effectively due to the colour scheme and the chosen images. One thing I would change is add more background text so it would look more effective due to it creating the idea of a used piece of paper. On the other hand I think that it will be better without it because it think there would be to much going on and the emphasise would be taken away from the drawing which is one of the important parts.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Media Platforms When comparing the media platforms I used to real media products you can see that I used the Youtube to present my final film which is the typical way that other short films have been presented. Vimeo is also used by filmmakers to upload and share their short films but due to my familiarity with youtube I decided to use that over Vimeo. By using Youtube my short film is easily accessible which results in it being easily viewed and therefore accessed. The people that use youtube are very diverse in a way that anyone can see my shortfall, including my target audience, people are able to view and comment their opinions on the short film which is why it is so effective. Credits Typically when watching short films it is introduced with the title for example in 'Don't look away'. The first thing you see is the title of the film, but in my film th...

the different aspects of my film poster include the title, release date, review, production company icon, actors names and information about the director. Title - The title is positioned at the bottom of the film poster. It is in the centre because during my research I found that the important information was positioned in the centre. The font I used creates the idea that it is almost childlike and hand written which relates to the storyline of the film and Charlie's character. Release date - The release date is positioned just above the title. I decided to put it there because I found that when peoples eyes are drawn to the title the next thing they will look at is the release date which is another part of important information. It is in the same font as the title allowing it to match and fit in which the film poster. I also positioned it in the centre of the film poster because important information is commonly positioned in the centre of the poster. Actors names - The ac...

When making my film poster I started by drawing and designing the face merge. I did this by photoshopping the actors face with a photo of Spiderman. I then printed it out and drew it. I then scanned it into photoshop which allowed me to incorporate it into my film poster. I chose a picture of lined paper which I would use in the background of my film poster. So I put it behind the drawing. I then decided on a font which I would use for my title and release date. I looked on daft.com for this font. I inserted the text which consists of the title, release date, review and actors names. I then wrote the information at the bottom on word which I then screenshot and pasted into photoshop. I researched some social media icons which I could use to put at the bottom of the poster. I decided to include a Facebook icon, Instagram and twitter icon.

As a result of my audience feedback I decided to improve my film poster by including a release date, social media logos and my production company logo. I thought by adding these it would look more realistic and more effective. I wanted to position the release date near the title so the audiences eyes are drawn to one area. I wanted to put the logos at the bottom of the poster because that is the typical place where they are found.

I asked three people for some audience feedback on my first draft of my film poster. The feedback that was given consisted of them liking the main image, they said that the positioning of it emphasises the importance and links to the narrative of the film. Also they thought that the simplicity of the poster was really effective and adds to the idea of literally seeing things in black and white, this then relates to the idea of autism. The improvements that I received from my audience feedback was that I should add a release date, the ident from my film, a review of the film and possibly the directors name and information.

I gathered photographs of both the actor and spiderman and put them into photoshop. I then cropped them so both of the photographs were only half of the original image. I had to crop the photograph of the image of the actor in order for the photos to be just of his face, which would then reflect the image of spiderman. When putting the two photographs together I had to line the heads and the features up in order for the final outcome to look effective. After the design was complete on photoshop I printed it then drew the design out onto paper. I was then able to scan the drawing into photoshop which I was then able to incorporate it into my final product. The idea behind the drawing design is that due to Charlie's autism he relates to spiderman a lot, with heightened senses. With one half of the design being the boy and the other half being spiderman a direct connection is made between them, it is almost being implied that he is spiderman. Wit...

For the face merge between Spiderman and Charlie I didn't know whether I wanted a front facing profile or a side profile. In the end I decided to go for a front facing photo. I thought that is would work more effectively and the viewer would be able to see both faces more and there would be more to compare and contrast. Also by having Charlie facing forward he will almost be looking at the viewer creating a connection with then and it would entice more people to watch it, which is the aim. I also found that it would look more symmetrical if he was facing forward and with my aim to try and emphasise his autism through the poster I think it being symmetrical would be overall more effective.
